A word from the press officer

Welcome to all media members interested in covering this major classical event, the Swiss Raid Commando, which now has a prestigious place on the calendar of European military raids.

Initiated in 1986, this famous international military event will be carried out for its 16th edition. It will take place for the first time at camp Bure, in the heart of the Ajoie region. Today the Swiss Raid Commando is famous beyond the Swiss boarder, due to the quality of its organization; it’s the call card of the professionalism that can be achieved by a militia army during a time of peace.

Professionalism begins with the planning and the organization, a staff composed of 90 career and militia, officers and non-commissioned officers, who at regular periods meet in order to elaborate and meticulously prepare all of the phases of this competition.

Professionalism in the conduct as well as in the execution of the raid with militia battalions during their yearly training course and recruit training schools, who engage over 2’500 soldiers for the establishment of numerous posts, for which they will manage the conduct and logistics.

Professionalism in the performance with over 600 Swiss and foreign raiders, who will compete during both selection and tactical stages, in an enthusiastic spirit of camaraderie.

It’s this professionalism that makes us proud and that we wish to share through the coverage provided by the various Swiss and foreign media ready to accompany us during this incredible adventure called the Swiss Raid Commando.

Despite new trends, our motto remains:
WANT, BELIEVE AND DARE.
